How to Get Your Data

Upload your entry data as a CSV or Excel file to audit your customs broker

Back to Previous Page

File Format

CSV or Excel File

You can upload the data as a CSV or Excel (.xlsx) file. Use the standard ES-003 Entry Summary Line Tariff Details report from Customs and Border Protection's ACE Reporting Portal.

Important

The column order doesn't matter, but column names must match exactly as shown below.

Required Fields

We need these 12 fields to run the audit. These are present in the standard ES-003 Entry Summary Line Tariff Details report in the ACE Reporting Portal.

Entry Summary Number
Entry Date
Entry Summary Date
Entry Type Code
Entry Summary Line Number
Country of Origin Code
Country of Export Code
Line SPI Code
Tariff Ordinal Number
HTS Number - Full
Line Tariff Duty Amount
Line Tariff Goods Value Amount

Optional Fields

Some tariffs, like the recently introduced Section 122 Temporary Import Surcharge, have additional applicability conditions based on departure dates and mode of transport. Additionally, your actual duty calculation date can be different from your Entry Date if you made use of an In-bond Transportation move. Including these fields improves accuracy.

Mode of Transportation Code
Exportation Date
Inbond Intermediate Transportation Date

Post Summary Correction Fields

We calculate how many erroneous entries could be fixed by filing a Post Summary Correction and how many might require Protests due to having liquidated already. To improve accuracy of these calculations, include these fields.

Liquidation Date
Liquidation Status

What does the audit cover?

The audit runs over 115+ stacking rules across Section 122, Section 232, Section 301 and the now expired IEEPA tariffs. It highlights errors and entries where we suspect incorrect Chapter 99 tariff usage as well as duty overpayment or underpayment that might have occurred as a result of these errors. We also flag a handful of origin countries and HTS codes that, in our experience, are unusual for most importers.

What does the audit not cover?

At the moment we do not check how well the broker adhered to your Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). Nor do we check valuations, rules of origin or if the classification of your product is indeed correct.

Will you keep this tool updated?

Yes, we will keep this tool up to date with new rules as the US tariffs change. New rules will typically be made available within 2 business days of being made available in Tariff Simulator.
